Default Project Appleseed - Beaver Falls

The Appleseed Project, sponsored by the RWVA, an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit association, visits Beaver Falls, PA for a 2-Day Marksmanship and American Heritage Clinic.

The Appleseed Program is designed to take you from simply being a rifle owner to being a true Rifleman. All throughout American history, the Rifleman has been defined as a marksman capable of hitting targets from 500 yards away! This 500-yard range is traditionally known as "the rifleman's quarter-mile." A rifleman can hit just about any target he/she can see.

Learn the “Six steps to firing the shot.” Learn correct firing positions and proper use of the sling. Hear some little-known Revolutionary War history and reaffirm your heritage. Become a more influential citizen and make America a better place.

    What you can expect:
    * New Shooters - learn fundamentals and make quick progress.
    * Experienced Shooters - learn techniques to tighten your groups.
    * Experts – polish skills, learn to how to pass on your skills, become a RWVA Instructor in Training.
    * Everyone – expect to have a great time!

Why should you come? To hear the story that every American should hear. About how your forebears took up arms, on the first day of the American Revolution, and did things no other people in the world have ever done. To learn things you don't learn in school - about that day, about the real start of the Revolution. According to John Adams, it was over before it started.
Another reason... To meet fellow Americans who feel like you do, and to bathe in an association with real Americans that is lacking in your everyday life, so you'll go back home rejuvenated - and maybe with hope for the future, for the first time in years. We want to teach men, women, and children- bring the family to learn together!

Cost: Walk-on fees are $80.00 for both days, or $50.00 for one day.
Pre-register and pay online and save! $70.00 for both days, or $45.00 for one day. Two-day participants receive a free T-shirt!
Active military (including reserves and guard), spouses of deployed overseas military, and active LEO shoot for FREE! Women and under 21 shoot for the greatly discounted prices of $10 & $5 respectively.

Misc: Lunch available in the clubhouse. Bring extra water and light snacks. If you have a portable shade canopy, bring it.

Rifles cased and left in vehicle until after Safety Briefing and until instructed to bring them to the firing line. Pistols left in vehicle for entire event. No loaded firearms on the range unless on the firing line and load command has been given. Eye and ear protection required. Starts at 08:30, please arrive early to allow time for set up and sign in.

Shooting distance: most of the instruction will be at 25 meters. This range will allow for some 200 yard shooting on Sunday.

    Thanks for the clarification!
I have attended some of the ladies shoots there with Evelyn.
I still need to buy a 22 rifle though as the one i tried out again yesterday is jamming alot - its an old Stevens /savage arms - 22 short/lr model 85.

Ev and I spent some "quality time" clearing out the culvert under the access road at the Club this evening. If you want to "try before you buy", I have a Ruger 10/22 to loan, and can probably get a Remington 597. The Marlin 795 is the other favorite LTR ("liberty training rifle") and I think it is the cheapest, but I don't have access to one.

Thank you so much for your kind offer! Hope all is going well with Ev and her school studies.
Some issues have arisen re our vehicle which is no longer safe. If I can figure this one out I will get in tough with Evelyn as i would love to try out a Ruger 10/22 and think the Appleseed would be a great learning experience. Maybe it will be on hold - but "not forgotten"!
