3 pages, and no one asked which .357 he refers to?

I assume 357 Magnum, but what about 357 SIG?

How many other 357 calibers are there (besides .38 Special)

So the question is this, if an officer is forced to shoot at a suspect and misses or has a through shot and injures/kills a bystander, what happens to that officer? On the other hand, what would happen to an ordinary citizen in the same scenario?
In every case where bullets are fired, the whole world is civilly liable. You, your family, the gun manufacturer, the ammo manufacturer, the police, EMS, your priest, your third grade math teacher.

Criminal liability is reserved for cases of negligence.

Regardless, the chances of a pass through injuring innocents is very low, especially when you consider you'll probably miss around 75% of your shots in a life or death shootout where both parties are moving. Don't let concerns about overpenetration effect you using the most effective round for the job.
