    Default .223 Shooters?

I have been looking for a .204 rifle so I can see the impact, but like the choices of rifles better in .223.

I know the recoil is not much in a .223, but with a heavy gun can you see the impact or is the muzzle jump too much?

depends on how "heavy" i guess... i shoot a savage m12fcv in 223... 26 inch heavy barrel and accustock.... weighs in around 12 or 13 pounds with a full mag, small bipod and scope... i get little to no muzzle jump and can see the impact on a shoot n see target at 100yds with no problem...

    Thanks,
I just ordered the Savage Model: 12 VLP DBM in 204, weighs in at 10 lbs before bipod and scope. I should have no problem seeing impact with this setup.

Seeing your own hits isn't just related to the weight of the rifle and caliber. If you are shooting with natural point of aim (properly), then you can see hits with larger calibers and moderately weighted rifles. If you're shooting natural point of aim, you should be able to see hits with a .223 even if it isn't heavy. Lots of times people use muzzle brakes and very small calibers to try to spot hits, when the problems can be with their shooting form.
