Default "All Guns Must Be Unloaded Prior To Entry"

So I was going to kill time at a Philadelphia gun club for a bit tonight before going to dinner, until the guy pointed out a sign that said as this thread is titled.

I turned around and walked out.

How do you guys feel about this kind of rule at a gun store?

    Turkey Zone

I'd leave too, but I would follow up and tell the owner why

Since it's cant possibly prevent crime (Robbers ignore signs... and laws) and...
It can't possibly prevent accidental discharge (Iditiots are idiots because they can not properly clear a gun. Thinking it's unloaded isn't the same as it being unloaded... and there couldn't be an accidental discharge if they did not think it was unloaded.)

I'd have done the same thing.

I won't give them a dime or spend a moment of my time or effort trying to conform to their ridiculous rule. That's one of my pet peeves. A gun shop/show/club with a "no loaded guns" policy... it's just asinine. Those are the three places or events where gun owners are supposed to be able to breathe a sigh of relief so to speak because they're among people with similar values. I don't care what lame excuse someone wants to give, I won't set foot in a place like that.

Was that SPAG? If so, look up my recent review from my first visit there. I saw that sign, too. Ignored it. Signed up for my range time, the range officer watched me unholster by CCW, unload my carry ammo, load the target ammo, shoot, reload carry ammo and reholster. Never said a word.

I'm assuming they don't want any yahoos walking around with a loaded gun in their hand in the shop. I don't think it applies to a holstered firearm.

As far as not setting foot in a place like that, unfortunately, it's the best option in town.

We have a rug in our store that says "no loaded firearms please". We don't enforce that rule unless your firearm is unholstered. this is strictly for saftey reasons.

Did they have a clearing station, or were you expected to point the firearm at the door and empty it manually, one by one?

The 2A does not GIVE us the right. It tells the gov they can not INFRINGE our right.

Viper, I am confused a little. It this a Store or Club or Range/Store?

I can't see a gun club having an "unload rule". Actually I can't see any reason for a gun STORE to have this "safety" rule either. (oh, except for "insurance purposes")
