Default It's Been an Exciting Week

So I just bought my first pistol on Friday and got my LTCF this afternoon. 25 minutes in and out at the Indiana County Courthouse. I thought it would be a couple weeks, but with the new system it's in and out, permit in hand. Needless to say I'm pretty pumped and just wanted to share.

Thanks to this forum for all the info I've used making this decision.

    Carry on.

Good. Now I just have to make sure the sheriff drops the price to 20.00 in march.

Congratulations on the firearm purchase and LTCF.

What does the new LTCF look like? Is it laminated paper?

Mine is almost like my driver's license. A credit card sized plastic card with the picture and info printed directly on it.. No laminated paper at all. It was issued in Allegheny County in March of last year...

It's a thick paper (potentially printable plastic) type deal with a rather thick lamination over it.

Hey BrewGuy, it's nice to see a fellow citizen carrying in Indiana, PA. I didn't know Indiana got a new system (its been a few years since I got my LTCF). I have to get my wife in there to get her license, and she'll be happy to hear it's an in and out process. My question is, with the new system, how do they run or check your "references" (if they even bother with it)? I was just curious.
    Welcome!

They didn't check mine. I walked in, filled out the app, stood there while she ran me through PICS, wrote a check while it was printed and laminated. It surprised me. A friend of mine got his under a year ago and it took him a week to get it, which is what I was expecting and was pleasantly surprised to walk out with my LTCF.
