You may want to re-think Wing Point...I do believe that it was closed and sold. I did hear that it was a beautiful facility though...

Thanks for the heads up QuadZilla. I was trying to call them the other week and the line was busy for over 2hours and I said the hell with them.

    RobW,

We are deciding today, possibly Central Penn. I shot Palmyra last Saturday, and it wasn't a bad setup. One of the guys I shoot with lives in York so we try to pick something in the middle.

As far as registered birds, I am waiting to start registered birds until I get my break % back to normal. I am guessing by the the end of April I should be golden.

Now you just have to shoot some clays with it!

I got my LM choke tonight at Richland so I am good to go. My buddy and I are going to Schraders (http://schradersoutdoors.com/) for some Sporting Clay fun tomorrow.

There are only 2 issues with this place. The drive is long, and the prices are a little salty coming in @ $39/100 and $10/25 (5 stand). It's not that bad for a round or two, but I pay for 2 shooters (Myself and wife). That and when I go there I end up shooting 2 or 3 rounds of clays and about 4-5 rounds of 5 stand.

Here is why I HATE this damn sport

    (Me)
    3rds of Clays = $120.00
    4rds of 5stand = $40.00
    2 flats = $80.00
    ------------------------------
    Total: $240+Taxes&tips

    (Wife)
    1rd of clays = $40.00
    2rds of 5stand = $20.00
    1 Flat = $40.00
    ------------------------------
    Total: $80.00+Taxes&tips

    Gas to get there: $80.00
    Gas for UTV: $20.00

    Day of fun $440.00

Yea gotta love big dollar shooting

Man, that is a pretty good ride. You gotta make it worth it ;->

I'm going to lay off tomorrow, shoot Sunday. Shot a practice round yesterday, it was nice to shoot in the sun for change! Didn't miss a bird until station 10 or 11, but wasn't keeping score.

Ok now I am seriously jealous! You got to enjoy yesterday's 70F weather. Not only enjoy it, but you got to shoot birds?!? I was very tempted to take a half day but I just couldn't swing it.

Yup, it was a perfect day to play hooky for a few hours. I only wish I had time to shoot the course twice ...

i might even hit the range up wednesday or thursdays nights...whatever night they throw'em...you saw how well that worked.
i might even join eltonville, just to save the few dollars....i like that setup...just have to get the rabbits under control.

Well first off... It sounds like Brian found the magic solution to get him shooting!

    RobW,

This season we definitely have to shoot together!

Well here is how it went today....This was with a totally new gun for me. I went from my Beretta 391 Urika2 to a Browning Citori "Special Sporting Clays" Edition. I shot LM over SKEET for most of the day. I did change to Full over IM for a very long station. It had high winds, the birds were about 40yds away and were VERY high in the air (Thrown from a tower).

I am now back in the 80% bracket! Woo Hoo. I can honestly say that we purposely shot the hardest positions to ensure we had a honest break%. At this rate I should be back to the high 80's low 90's by mid to late April.

5 Stand did show that I need to work on different types of presentations. I have my favorites, but it pointed out a few I need to work on.

The Browning did EXCELLENT! Kicks a little more (To be expected with an O/U compared to a semi), but I was toying with the idea of shooting another round of 100, so it couldn't be that bad. I do want to set it up with an adjustable comb as I need a C.H. of adjustment to help ensure a smooth pull and mount with proper eye alignment.

    Sporting Clays
    Round 1: (100birds) 73%
    Round 2: (100birds) 78%
    Round 3: (100birds) 80%

    5-Stand
    Round 1: 17 (68%)
    Round 2: 19 (76%)

    Nice going!

I sucked today on the main course and the 5-stand, but I'm getting used to doing MUCH worse with registered birds than casual shooting. About 20% worse, which of course means it is all mental and a lack of concentration on shooting instead of keeping score.

The symptom - rolling along, breaking as usual. Notice that there are only a few stands left and a new personal best is a gimmee. Shoot 000X00 000000 X0000X X0X0000 0X0X
X0 (or thereabouts) to finish with a 60. At least the weather was nice.
