Default I have $400 to play, what to get

heres what i was thinking, i never had an SKS, thought about a draco and maybe another wasr. I know its a broad question but what do you think of the SKS or draco? Is there something else fun to shoot around that price?

By your post I assume you already have a WASR. Something on that order would have been my first suggestion. Do you have a good .22?

Kel Tec Sub 2000. About $300-325 and cheap to shoot your pistol caliber of choice (as long as it's 9 or 40) and takes your Glock mags (or others). Not super practical for much but a blast at the range. YMMV, of course.

I suggest an SKS. Cheap and reliable but a little contagious, so be prepared to get more if you go this route.

.22's are fun & cheap to shoot. Maybe a S&W M&P-22? Or even a Ruger 10-22? There are lots of aftermarket goodies for them.

I haven't heard any reports on it, but I find the Keltech PMR30 (light handgun with 30 rounds of .22 Magnum) curious and would like to get one.

Do you have an AK? YMMV but I don't see a practical reason to own both if you're serious about self defense. As other said, for $400 you can get a training class and learn how to use what you already have.
