    Angry Bought a Beautiful Kahr MK40... THAT ISN'T ACTUALLY A MK40... UPDATE

    Got it for a song at Trop today... It locks back every 4 rounds or so... Not so happy, shot 50 rounds of 180 gr Federal, and 50 WWB and 25 Golden Sabers. No difference. I got 2 mags with the gun, no difference with either. Well, here it is;

    What's wrong with these followers?

Really don't wanna send it to Kahr... I'll get some new mags, try that. I guess we'll see...

I do not know if this gun is used or not and you probably do not have a round count for it. That said I believe KAHR requires a 200 or 400 round break in period. I also believe this is mentioned in the manual with the gun. Might be worth looking into before buying new mags or sending it back.

By the way, beautiful gun. Hope you get it all worked out.

If it's brand spanking new I'd bring it right back where I bought it without further delay.

I don't think that would have anything to do with the slide locking back, but rather feeding and extracting.

    Oooo.. Nice paper weight!

Sorry, had to bust your balls.

Both mags are factory Kahr mags I take it? Did you buy used? Might just need to replace the springs.

If it's any consolation, my experience with Kahr's customer service was fantastic. I never had a firearm problem (it was an order foul-up with accessories), but they were extremely responsive and helpful.

If you don't get any resolution from the gun shop, or from new mags, try calling Kahr and see what they can do for you.

I know these are finnicky until 350-400 rounds as mentioned above.

Even if its used, it looks pretty knew. Maybe it wasn't fired much by previous owner.

This might be the reason that you got it for a song

Is this a new or a used gun??

Kahrs require a 200 round break in period. If your gun is new, I'd put at least 200 rounds through it and then see how it acts.
If it's used, then it might need a trip back to the factory since it's happening with both mags.

Used, unfortunately. With no warranty or returns...
Makes me wonder about the seller not checking used guns.
