    Default DuBois Shenanigans

Heard on the radio while driving home (and couldn't find it on the Internet since the news apparently is too new?), DuBois City Council (at least one council member) is upset over firearms being carried at city council meetings by mere citizens.

One local took umbrage with this and presented them with not only the Preemption section of the Uniform Firearms Act, but also advised them about Official Oppression. The news reporter on the radio cited Section 6120 word-for-word as part of the news.

The city's Solicitor called all the members in for an Executive Session to talk about the subject.

Resident Sam Miles said those who have sufficiently tested for a concealed weapons permit are issued one, and it is well within everyone's constitutional rights to lawfully carry a firearm. However, he said, common sense should be applied in this situation.
Police Chief Mike DiLullo said it is his department's job to protect and serve and he attends the meetings to ensure the public's safety.
DiLullo personally addressed Mitchell, "No one here wants to offend you or wants to violate your rights in any way. Sometimes you have to step back and look at how actions affect what goes on. With everything that goes on in today's world people are scared, and we have to understand that."
I think the citizen that's carrying is applying common sense, especially in light of the current state of the world. He's taking it upon himself to protect himself, too bad these 'enlightened' people can't see it for themselves.

Mitchell has carried a permitted weapon to city council meetings.
What the hell is a "permitted" weapon?

They see it, they just don't like it. Don't take their lies at face value when they play dumb and say they don't understand why anyone would do it. They know perfectly well, it's just a culture and ideology they personally dislike AND as government officials they don't like the idea of someone taking care of themselves and having power over theirs.

Someone needs to explain to this man that mere citizens carrying firearms in 1775 at Breeds/Bunker Hill is the reason why we have a right to hold a City Council Meeting.

Man there's been so much stupid lately in these meetings it's painful, mostly because of one loud-mouthed flaming liberal who's a typical "big city thinker" and couldn't see the forest through the trees if the damn forest fell on his head.

The idiots on the city council can't even control their meetings, they've degenerated into shouting matches and people interjecting themselves into the council debates and interrupting members; it's laughable to be honest. Hell, the chief of the fucking police can't even properly define his job.

I'm done going to them, I'll just watch some prime-time reality TV show or something if I feel the need to get a fix of stupid mindless drama, no way I'm still thinking of buying property there after these displays of idiocy.
