Default Well I finally broke in my first 1911

I had it for a few weeks before I took it to the range. I will say for someone who never shot any pistol larger than a .357 Mag and never shot a SA only gun it was an experience.

I shot 1 box of PMC through the gun without a failure or jam. I had anticipated a greater "snap" to the gun but it was almost like shooting a 9mm FNP.

Any way the gun is a Para Ord GI Expert. It has the skeletalized trigger, skeletalized bob tail hammer, and a fully Stainless barrel.

Most people hates Para Ord, supposedly they are poor quality guns, personally i love them , i own these 2 and will bet a compact in due time.

Never a failure in my 2 Paras, i carry the LTC in the winter , great carry gun.

Tod Jarret did a torture test of the GI expert , firing a thousand rounds through it none stop in x amount of minutes.

THe Video is on you tube.

    Congrats on your Para.

Same here on my second Para never had a problem with mine either . Only negative i would have is the finish is not the hardest but i am pretty hard on my guns. Lots of practice draws from kydex holsters. Below is my Limited 10/3gun Para.

I have the same gun, I took it out when I bought it and it was shooting low I thought. I have to take it back out and really practice seriously with it, when I went it was with my father-in-law and brother-in-law and it was more to fire our guns than it was some serious target practice.

Nice Gun Pagoda, beautiful, yeah the finish on my LTC is not the toughest but then again it were designed to be a carry gun so scratches are expected, the green finish on my LDA is as tough as nails, cant seem to scratch it .

Camper what ammo were you using when the gun shot low?

Remember that light ammo will hit low.

Good point. I know I had some Walmart Winchester with me, but my father in law brought up a few boxes of 45 so we mostly shot that...I don't recall what it was, think it was aluminum casing though.

For the same reason people hate on RIAs. They spent more than you and accomplished the same task.

Sounds like Blazer. To, me this ammo is a waste of money, especially if you sight your gun in at 25 yards with decent ammo and then shoot this stuff. Seven yards or closer, you are just ok.
BCM and Glock...for a bigger pile of 'cold dead hands' brass.

Thumbs up Re: Well I finally broke in my first 1911

congrats on the new gun. the only down side i see is that the 1911 is addictive as crack. once you start shooting this platform you don,t want to shoot anything else. it,s plain to see for most why this gun has reached the 100 year mark and is more popular than ever.
