    * Former Constable Wander to run for City Council *

Republican Josh Wander, a long-time political activist and former constable, will formally announce his intention to run for the 5th District Pittsburgh City Council seat at the monthly Republican 5th Council District Republican Committee meeting, Carnegie Library of Squirrel Hill, Tuesday, February 15th, 5:30pm.

Although detailed issues of his campaign are forthcoming, Wander has stated that his firm belief in the US and PA Constitutions, limited government and lower taxes are what separates him from the other local candidates who are part of a party who's reckless financial spending bankrupted this once proud city. He is striving to provide an alternative to the entrenched Democratic political machine.

Wander was born and raised in White Oak, PA and is a life-long conservative Republican. He has a Bachelors Degree in Talmudic Law from Jerusalem and a Masters Degree in Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh. He served, as a commander in the Israeli Defense Forces and volunteers as an officer in the United States Air Force Auxiliary. He has an extensive history in local, national and international politics, having worked as an adviser in the Israeli Knesset (Parliament), having been elected as a Pennsylvania State Constable and appointed as a Republican Committeeman.
Wander is married with five children and lives in the Squirrel Hill district of Pittsburgh. He is currently self-employed and is doing research for his PhD in Public Policy and Administration.
    He can be reached at (412) 213-VOTE (8683) or at votewander@gmail.com .

Too often we enjoy the comfort of opinion, without the discomfort of thought.

Some of us are Republicans but are registered as Democrats. As painful as that is.
