    There is a possibility, if the consult goes well, that I may need a fundraiser established to pay for legal fees. I hate to ask so much of the community, but would someone with good standing and who has done it before be willing to potentially lead the effort with that? I wouldn't want to manage my own fundraiser - it's in bad taste and I don't have the management skills for it.

    Just curious, the firm in question wasnt interested in taking it on contingency ?

    FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe the usual suspects will run the fund raiser for you if they approve of the suit.

    my brother filed a federal civil rights lawsuit....the lawyer took his case on contingency but we had to front the associated filing fees etc....

    Money has not been discussed yet - This isn't a high dollar case and lawfirms are a business after all, they do need to make money. We shall see what happens after the consult.

    True enough, but sometimes, every once in awhile they do things for the attention they bring or even rarer still, because its the right thing to do. Matter of fact I have a guy I interviewed for my leg injury case ( and wound up not hiring) handling some other stuff for me, gratis, he offered, because we hit it off really well and he genuinely wants to help me out.
