Yeah and that's pretty much BS. The first amendment protects obscene speech. If it aint offensive then it needs no protection in the first place. yelling F@#% C@&! A$$#@!& is pretty obscene, telling someone to go f@#% their mother is pretty obscene, wishing all [inset ethnic slang here] would be hung from a tree, is at least obscene to [insert earlier used ethnic slang here].. None of that is excluded in the first amendment, actually i don't see any exceptions to the first amendment within the first amendment... Can someone point that out to me?

I must be lacking in the area of reading comprehension...

I'm not totally sure on the permits though. I remember along time ago a forum I was a member on would have a picnic at the park and I don't remember them ever needing a permit. Unless the area is reserved, it should be open to the public to use on a first come basis.
There is a picnic area west of the arch in the main part of the park. The Betzwood area parking fills up due to the proximity to the bikepath to Philly.

I suggest that if there is a picnic that someone from the area bring a scanner, just in case there's a MPWAG call goes out. That way we'll at least be ready when the SWAT team shows up.

IIRC, Obama is the one that signed that bill into law. (I believe the carry part was tacked onto some other bill.)

    ETA: Yep. Here's another article.

I am not a lawyer and nothing I say should be construed as legal advice.

Reagan administration restricted it, 2nd Bush attempted to restore it, Sen Coburn from Oklahoma added an amendment to the Credit Card bill last year and Obama was not going to veto his Credit Card bill, so he unwillingly restored it.

    Guys

It appears in your enthusiasm to guarantee your own rights to open carry you care little about others rights (freedom of speech) when I injected my opinion. You may ask the owner of the site to place that in the rules for posting here, that people who only agree with you can post here. After going through all the posts there appears to be a lot of postings here on this thread that could be construed as off topic to include the subject of bankruptcy. But the group throws the off topic foul flag when someone disagrees with them and cares little about off topic as long as someone agrees with them.

I think Mark is going to need a whole lot more money that you boys have already come up with to fight his two battles. The criminal one and the the civil one. It smells of a bad case as his attorney is not taking the case on a contingency but asking for money up front. Remember the city's attorneys are free and Mark will have to keep paying no matter how long they drag this out. Dragging it out equals lengthy appeals.

The true test will be time and results. This equals money.

The city's attorney's are free and cost Mark nothing? And knowing this, I'm sure they'll be just as diligent and hardworking as Mark's attorney. There's only one thing worse than corrupt city officials, and that's dirty lawyers playing both sides of the fence.
