No, that's typical. The warrant serving team is numerous car loads of officers. They drive around and hit and run on as many locations and warrants as they can using a sort of shock and awe tactic. They cover all the entrances/exits etc. in case someone tries to run.

In my experience, the warrant team was a group of the more civil and polite of the PPD I've encountered. They picked me up at home and let me get changed before taking me in. They were professional and did their job but didn't get abusive unlike beat cops I've seen.

As soon as I read about this I placed a call to someone I know thats a member here. He was already aware of what was going down and had made contact with a criminal defense attorney at a firm he works for on Marks behalf. My contact was in the middle of something at work and couldnt get into details, but promised to call me back with in an hour or two so I can find out more info

And Mark, for God's sake, until you get picked up, give your firearms to someone (who has an LTCF) for safe keeping. You do NOT want to be armed with a gun or knife or anything if/when they catch up to you. And make sure you're with someone rational and cool headed at all times to serve as a witness to how you are treated and how you acted when you get picked up (who is also not armed).

I've been told someone called the warrant's department in Philly at 215-683-3723 and was told is no warrant for the guy. That's odd, unless the personnel made the mistake of searching for only active warrants and his was checked off for being in custody.
