Re: Arrested by the Philadelphia Police for Open Carry
We need no reason whatsoever for why we are walking down the streets we pay for. "Sir, why are you openly carrying a firearm?" Because the turnpike tastes like jello. We don't need any explaination at all. And there should be plenty of people within 30 miles of Philly who can show up for this event. Hell, we should be able to come up with 100 from just Philly alone. We won't, but we should.
When the SHTF......be the fan.

Re: Arrested by the Philadelphia Police for Open Carry
I'm not saying it's wrong or illegal. I'm just saying that it would raise a lot of questions why a state rep from Somerset was stopped in Philadelphia for openly carrying a firearm with a camera in tow. It would *look* like activism, and for a politician, looks are reality. And that's who we were originally talking about - getting a state rep from out west to come to Philly and be seen carrying openly. But I agree - there should be plenty enough in Philly alone to raise awareness without going too far out afield.

Re: Arrested by the Philadelphia Police for Open Carry
I haven't done much as far as following this thread lately, but I can say with absolute certainty that if such a walk/event is arranged (or any for that matter), I'll be there with my DSLR camera for high quality stills as well as full 1080p HD video.
I'll just CC so that I can blend into the background. lol. I would love to get some candid "scaring innocent women and children" shots.

:edit:
I'll go ahead and retract that idea, then, given the very next post...Last edited by tmountjr; April 17th, 2011 at 11:23 PM.

Re: Arrested by the Philadelphia Police for Open Carry
I hope that your proposing this for AFTER the big protest/counter rally at Delia's and NOT actually AT Delia's. Cause if so, I can tell everyone unequivocally that OCing at the Heeding God's Call thing is NOT wanted ! Thats not what the gathering from our side is doing there, there is almost certain to be a media presence, the numerous Civil Affairs Officers that are always there are near universally on our side, including over looking minor things the religious nuts bitch about. The Delia's protest is NOT the place to make an issue of OCing, even though I agree and fully support the idea currently being discussed.
