Default can i purchase a handgun? please help

ok so here it goes with endless internet searching and running backround checks on myself. Last year i was in a dispute, the neighbors called the cops because my gf and i were arguing, long story short, when shes drunk shes violent, so i grabbed her to stop hitting me and i was arrested for domestic violence. She didnt call the cops and didnt want me to go to jail because i did nothing wrong. long story short, I got an attorney and we agreed that the best course of action is to take the diversion to go to anger mgmt and have all the charges dropped because the da was apparently going after dv cases and i thought this was the easiest way out. So i did that, no charges were pressed, and the only thing on my criminal record is 2701 a1 and 2701 a3 - they dropped the dv charge to simple assault, and then i have documentation stating that upon completion of anger mgmt all charges dropped. I am currently trying to buy a handgun and am wondering if i should be ok, or if it is neccesary to expunge this arrest record. I do not have any criminal history at all, but on my public records it says those two things, but again they were dropped and i was never convicted, please help? am i clear to at least buy a handgun? thankyou.

I'm no lawyer but IMO yes you can. Why wonder, just go do it and if denied take the necessary steps.

Are you done with all your requirements, like the Anger management? if not i would probably wait till it is all completed and you have the papers to prove compliance. just my recommendation, (not a lawyer myself), and i would suggest finding a new GF, not trying to be harsh with you there, but it is not gonna change and once you have a firearm, it is gonna be worse. Trust me been through it myself.

You can PM me for more details if you wish.

I agree you should be fine.
But keep in mind, if you have a drunken violent individual in the home having a handgun may be a bad idea unless you keep it locked up and out of that persons reach.

Im not telling you or anyone else to do, just being realistic.

Yeah, that is some very sound advice... If your dockets all say dismissed, then you should be good to go... Just remember, each charge must be dismissed or nolle prossed...

If there was no injunction on you for removal or purchasing barr on firearms you should be okay.

I'd drop the drunk g-friend asap if you haven't already. If she wants you back, she can go the rehab route on her own accord to prove herself to you. But if she has already caused this BS to happen to you once, it can happen again.
