Default Decent Red Dot for AR?

Finally got my AR project underway, I am in the market for a decent red dot for it. It's a 16" barrel, and will be mostly a range gun. Don't need to have THE BEST but at the same time not looking for junk either... What would you guys recommend? If you could please post a link up so I can click and read that would be great!

    Thank You!

Thumbs up Re: Decent Red Dot for AR?

Aimpoint Comp M2/ML2. You can pick up used ones for less than $300. There's also EOTech's for sale on THIS board's classifieds, for right at $300!

A USED Aimpoint/EOTech is better than the NEWEST Russian/Chinese crap. Buy ONCE - buy with CONFIDENCE.

    Thanks

you can use a aimpoint, eotech, or trijicon. I have aimpoint on all my ARs. You can just goggle them and find prices on different web sites.

These are/were all recent good buys, in my estimation - and NONE OF THEM WERE MINE - just to be clear.

    Thanks for the links!

Yeah, I am starting to not want to spend money on a flip up sight... Might as well try and "budget" in a Red Dot somewhere from the get go...

These things are money pits... sure are good lookin' money pits though..

I second a quality optic even if you have to go used.
I have used a CCO Aimpoint comp line in the army. Very nice sites.
I have personally owned an EoTech 557. Nice optic but it had some problems with the battery compartment the new XPS line has fixed thoses from what I have read.
And I have just ordered an AimPoint H1 with Laure QD mount. Will have it Monday.

The saying "Buy once cry once" Fits here very well.

A new one that is a nice performer at a reasonable price is the Vortex Strike Fire
    Sector 4
