Question Opinions on Kimber Target Master II 1911 .45

I saw one of these today and fired it, fell in love....it has the beaver-tail safety which i was looking for...and its a damn good looking piece. Brushed stainless with chrome trigger...

It IS a little pricey tho, but im looking for something that's quality. I have never owned Kimber so maybe someone can help me out here...

    what im concerned with...

the warranty, what does it pertain to?

also this will be a carry gun that im going to put my life on the line for....

I think there are better options for $900. There are a lot of Kimber haters here in my area, and seem to be a few here. I have shot a number of Kimbers and experienced no issues, but with the indifference, I would go with something in the Colt or SA line. Kimber's warranty could be better, as well. I believe it is one year on the entire firearm. A lot of people swear by Kimber, so who am I to say they are not good.

swear by my kimbers, of the four they all take turns on my hip. i have seen a lot of hating and complaints, here and else where. between me and my brother from another mother, we own 8 kimbers and have had next to no problems or failures, except for mag issues, i will say that their magazines are junk and we have both thrown them out...basically at purchase after my first kimber purchase. mag issues are the only issues i have ever had. people have horror stories, but i am not among them. i trust my kimbers with my life.

I own several Kimber Model 1911 pattern pistols. I have 10mm, .38 Super, & .45 Acps I just make sure I buy the ones with external extractors, next I remove the Swartz Device, give them a "tune up", and last but not least I lose the Kimber magazine.
I then give them about 300 to 400 rounds for break in and I am good to. I don't have issues with using a Kimber for carry pistol.

Keep hearing the issues with Kim stock mag being junk.
No problems with my stock mag, right from the get go.
Still use the stock mag while carrying. Have 2 WC's, and 2
    KimPro's, as backup.

For a carry gun, you don't need adj. sights. Go with a similar
model, w/o the Target in the model name.

Good point. Target sights do have a better chance of getting frayed (FU), and are hard to see in the dark.

If you found one used for $600 with only 70 rds., then it is a no brainer, as long as it functions well. Just remember, Colts are 1911's also, and they are not with out faults, they just happen to be my preference in the 1911 line up, but a $600 Kimber Target Master II, well...
