    Default Pelican 1450 case

I bought a Pelican 1450 case to put my Springfield Trophy Match and some mags. It's a bit bigger than I was expecting, particularly in thickness.

Anyway, it has the pick and pluck foam insert and I'm trying to figure out the best way to do this.

I'd like to maximize the space so I can fit a lot in there. To do this, it seems like putting the pistol on 1 side and then the mags on the other side is best, but I guess I need to worry about balance as well. If the gun is centered, then I don't have as much room for mags and stuff.

Anyone have suggestions or have a similar case that you can post pics of?

Is there enough room to put the gun vertical in the case? (So that when you opened it you were looking at the top of the pistol with the muzzle facing the hinge) That way you would use the depth more efficiently and could fit more mags, ammo, holster, etc in the case.

Not sure if this is the type of answer you seek, but trying to be helpful.

I thought of that but it's not quite deep enough, imo.

Ok, here is what I came up with...

Not exactly pretty but it works. Each section for the mags can hold 2x 8 rd. mags except for the bottom left, that can hold 1x 10 rd. mag for sure, maybe 2. Only have 1 10 rd mag at the moment though.

I could probably do 1 more section in the middle for either another 10 rounder or 2x more 8 rounders.

The little section at the top is holding a little bag that has my bushing wrench, guide rod wrench, and grip screws wrench.
