Default 45 acp... where to buy 230 grain fmj bullets

Where can I get the best deal on. 451 (45acp) bullets in 230 grain??? I'm just beginning to use my new press and I'm not sure where to get these.

I found powder and primers at my local shop, but I wasn't going to buy top-shelf bullets to start with and they didn't have any fmj.

Any suggestions? I don't have a ton of Money right now after buying everything else, so I should only get 100 or 500 until next month.

Are you looking for a local shop or will you be OK with ordering online?
Here are two that I get my bullets from.

ETA: I also order from and go to Cabelas. http://www.cabelas.com

It was already mentioned, but Precision Delta has the best deals on FMJ online. Period.

They're running $119 per thousand shipped for 230 gr FMJ (and I doubt shipping to your neck of the woods would amount to any difference in price). The problem is that you need to order at least two thousand at a time. I see that is outside of your budget at this time. However, keep it in mind for your next order. Buying in small quantities gets expensive, especially when the shipping costs are figured in.

Check the sticky at the top of the forum, go to post #17 for a rather extensive list.

Or, just click this http://forum.pafoa.org/ammunition-re...es-page-2.html and go to #17. Lots of options tere.

I personally recommend alphabravo bullets, for cast 225 gr roundnose for the 45. Way cheaper than FMJ, and they shoot just as well.

how do those alpha bravo bullets wear on semi autos??? I am going to be using these reloads in a S/A Range Officer and I really don't want to screw it up at all by cheaping out on the bullets.

Would the "Hard Alloy" bullets be a better choice for the semi-auto??? They are only $6 more per 500...

While I am on it, how do semi-wad cutters do in a 1911???

BTW thanks to all for responding so quickly.... gotta love PAFOA

I've been using Hunter's Supply for a bit now and have had no problems at all, either with their product or service. Plus they pay shipping.
