    Default LTCF, easy process

    Hi everyone,

I recently got my LTCF and it only took 1-2 business days for the police check card (this is lower providence police department). The Montgomery County Sheriff took about 20 minutes. Great experience overall, and no hiccups along the way. Before I applied, I read a lot of people having a hard time but I guess it wasn't so bad after all!

As maligned as that extra police check card is, montco is still much better to deal with than Delco or Philly.

Get rid of that check card...THEN there will be no hiccups.

Its a one time event that takes 20 minutes? I don;t see the big deal. I dropped mine off in Bridgeport, picked it up the next day done and went and got my license. That was 20 years ago, speeds the process at the sheriffs office if they don't do the work.

Local police dont do the PICS check... All the local police do is make sure they dont "know" you. and often if local denies you, you still get approved by the montco sheriff during the PICS check.

pointless extra step is a waste of time. I think it is just show your township knows who is carrying. I got pulled over a year ago and my township cop asked me if I had a gun on me???? Just told him that I have nothing illegal on me.

    See above link.
They may not do a PICS check, but some are running a background check and then charging you for it.

There were a couple others, but I have a hard time finding them.
The 2A does not GIVE us the right. It tells the gov they can not INFRINGE our right.

Well if it is a pics check it should only be $2 as that's what it costs the state to do the check... Personally I'd refuse to pay more then the 25 required by the state.

Well, I applied two years ago and it took over a week for the police chief to respond.

My wife applied and it took the chief 21 days to respond.

Both times, the chief was on vacation. One man is out and the illegal process suffers.

together, one household lost almost a month waiting for an illegal check.

I'd say the process is a bit lumpy.
Honey, sell my guns for what they're worth and not what I told you I paid for them.
