need some 1911 help

so i completely disassembled my taurus pt1911 for the first time for a duracoat job i planned for it (also first time) ..... so i finish the paint and go to re assemble the pistol when i see i no longer have the safety lock PLUNGER..now heres the question how important is that and where can i get another....also on a side note the left side of my ambi safety is incredibly loose any tips for that

Call Taurus's CS dept and tell them you need to order the part. If you twisted or pryed the safety at the wrong angle to get it off, you could have opened the slot that holds them together. Carefully crimp the slot and put back together. You may have to do this a couple of times before you get it right, or you could get Taurus to send you that part, as well.
