Very nice! This would look good in the Homemade holster thread! I like your tooling. What did you use for the matting in the background?

Awesome work! That definitely took some time to make.

And why am I not surprised to see Chemical as the first one to respond to a holster making thread?

Damn tootin! She has pics of another nice holster she made in that thread as well. Very nice work indeed. I really would like to know what she used for a matting tool in the black areas since the one I have sucks.

ETA: From the close up it looks like the same tool actually...maybe just a little more time and effort went into making it more uniform....sweeeeeet!

FUCK!!! She's gonna make me step up my game!

Yes it took a long time to make, well the tooling/stamping/carving and dye part did. Probably the same tool chemical, its that backgrounder in the "basic 7" or whatever it is that Tandy sells. I did them teardrop like scales, just started doing it not sure of what way, and this pattern starts and I like the way it looks, so I stuck with it. I pretty much experimented the whole way. The dye was applied like watercolors, I used the waterbased stuff so it could be diluted or used full. I DID get a BFA degree at an arts college, might as well use the talent/training for something marketable. Of course I do taxidermy , make fur hats, and plain goof around with stuff. I haven't even done any sort of painting in ages. I can do animals and landscapes, but suck at people portraits.

I'm not sure I posted it or even took a pic of it, but I did a leather painting of my av dog a while back. I did it pretty quick so its kinda crude and rough.

Wow, beautiful holster. You are quite talented. I hope you are putting that talent to use to earn some cash, because if others are not using such well made holsters it would be a shame.
