We could have video of Holder delivering the guns personally while snacking on a baby fetus taco, but until it provides the maximum political leverage for dozens of other completely unrelated ends, Lady Justice will be blind, bound, gagged, and stuffed in a trunk in the basement.

Clear enough? And yes, it really is that simple.

Indeed it is just that simple.

I continue to post related news on this story but have grown exceedingly weary of the gamesmanship here. Issuing a subpoena? Really? A subpoena is like saying, "Well, Eric, since you have stonewalled and not cooperated, reused to released the documents we requested, we would like it if you came a talked to us some more." In other words, it is completely meaningless and a pointless waste of time.

It seems to me it is past time that Holder and Newell, at the very least, should have criminal indictments issued against them! It is clear those two lied to congress. Of course lying to a bunch of liars is probably inconsequential or maybe they just expect members of other branches of the fedgov to lie to them since they lie to us so much.

If this is the best the Dead Elephants can do when they have enough evidence to hang the DoJ, FBI and ATF for massive violations of law then we are fucking doomed.

The fix is still in. Contempt or no contempt, that is the question. John Boehner's "love ewe" raises her head once more?

Dave Workman reports that Gowdy says Holder ‘will comply’ with subpoena. Sharyl Attkisson reports it too, although there is this disturbing correction to the story:

CORRECTION: An earlier version of this article said Issa had House Speaker John Boehner's backing on the citation. As noted above, he has not yet made a formal decision on the matter.

The reliably collectivist Talking Points Memo confirms:

Disputing a CBS report, a Republican leadership aide told TPM that House Speaker John Boehner has made “no decision” about whether the House will take up a contempt resolution against Attorney General Eric Holder. Republicans, led by House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA), have alleged that the Justice Department has obstructed a congressional probe into ATF’s botched ”Fast and Furious” operation.

“While there are very legitimate arguments to be made in favor of such an action, no decision has been made to move forward with one by the Speaker or by House Republican leaders,” the aide told TPM.

From this I think that we can reliably conclude that Issa and Grassley are still being road-blocked by John Boehner and the rest of the spineless GOP leadership. No doubt the blackmail photo of Boehner with Dolly, his "love ewe" has been made full advantage of.

I think the blank pages could reasonably be interpreted as "contempt" and should be charged as such.

Government's answer to "Fast and Furious" records requests: Blank pages

For more than a year, CBS News has been investigating the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms' "Fast and Furious" operation and related cases that also employed the controversial tactic of "gunwalking." With Justice Department officials refusing all interview requests to date, CBS News requested numerous public documents through the Freedom of Information Act.

So far, all of the requests that have been answered have been denied in part or in full.

This week, we received a partial response to a request made more than a year ago. It asked for communications involving "Project Gunrunner," the umbrella program for Fast and Furious, from 2010 through April 2011. Specifically, it sought any communications to which any of the following top Justice officials were a party: Attorney General Eric Holder; Lanny Breuer, Assistant Attorney General for the Criminal Division; Kevin Carwile, chief of the Capital Case Unit; and Deputy Assistant Attorney Generals Bruce Schwarz and Kenneth Blanco.

    The response includes mostly-blank pages.

See the nearly-blank provided to CBS News (PDF)

Federal agencies can legally claim exemptions from the Freedom of Information Act for a number of reasons including attorney-client privilege, law enforcement purposes, and personal privacy. However, they've fallen under sharp criticism from the media and public interest groups in the past decade as a large number of FOIA requests have languished, sometimes for years.

FOIA was originally intended to expedite the release of public materials to the public and media. However, in practice, FOIA requests are often not even marginally effective at obtaining documents for news reporting. To be most effective and helpful, the requests would often need to be filled in a matter of days or at least weeks.

Few requests filed by this reporter are answered within a year. When and if documents are ever produced, they are often heavily redacted and the timeliness of the information relative to the public interest has long since subsided.

Separately the FBI has denied CBS News all information requested regarding the death of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry. Two Fast and Furious weapons were found at his murder scene in December 2010. The FBI stated that the information was withheld because the murder investigation is ongoing. That investigation has now entered its second year.

Republicans prepare contempt citation against Eric Holder over Fast and Furious

CBS News appealed the FBI's denial, arguing that some records had already been made public by FBI to news agencies, that releasing certain parts of its investigative documents would not jeopardize any investigation, and that the FBI should provide, at a minimum, a log of the withheld materials. The appeal was denied. The ATF likewise denied our FOIA request under the basis of "opening investigation."

If it was a citizen they'd kick the door down, muzzle sweep our children until they shit their pants, and shoot our dogs. There would be no hesitation what so ever, just complete and total unfeeling decisiveness.

Sooner or later people are going to have to resort to saying f**k man made laws (as they get more and more retarded).
I plucked that quote from another forum, but the man has a point. If the nation's law enforcement agencies and their highest ranking officers have no fucking respect for the rule of law, or common decency, how long do they think it will take before it rubs off on the nation's citizenry.

IMO, those agencies, the dirty shit they do, the scum they regularly lay down with, are the lowest fucking form of life on this planet.

"X is what percentage of Y?" Divide the first number by the second, multiply the answer by 100. Add a percent sign. Think.

I only hope enough parents of children approaching military service age are taking note of all of this and realizing that "service to our country" isn't what it used to be.
This country - as it has become - does not deserve the blood and sacrifice or our youth to further their corrupted agendas or secure "them".

Let them re-start a draft and send their own kids - don't let your kids join their military for "service".

And when you ask 'em "How much should we give?", they point the cannon at you.
The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but believe me, it's on the damned list.

...and they answer more, more, more.

When those in government betray the trust the people have bestowed upon them it is time for new stewards of government.

    ^This!^

Before they walk into the recruiter's office direct them to the National Security Archives, make them take a good long look at the signatures of every one of the Joint Chiefs on the Operation Northwoods documents.

Make them aware of that they may be bound to men who may intentionally mislead them, or who may be mislead themselves. Let them understand the permanence of death, so they can make an informed decision about life.
