I'm not going to give numbers or goals I'm working towards, but your list seems more like a 'standard stock on hand' list than a 'reserve' list to me.

As much as you can afford while storing safely.

Always assume that when it comes to ammo, whatever you have isn't enough. Besides, it's not like the stuff will ever get cheaper so you can think of it as an investment. It's not paranoia; it's good economics!

I have taken to "collecting" three handgun calibers and 4 rifle calibers.... It makes Seneca for me but yes, you can always store more!

Only time you can have too much ammo is when you are on fire or trying to swim.

Not much. Plan on stocking up over the next few months. Also plan on getting a few more guns in at least 2 calibres that I don't have now.

What may seem like a reserve to some, may just be a minimum stock of ammunition on hand for another. It all depends on what each shooter's definition of an ammunition supply entails.

For a competition shooter, a certain amount of practice ammunition as well as match ammunition needs to be maintained, in all calibers with which they compete. For a sportsman, enough ammunition to get them through target practice, and onhand for hunting may be all they need.

We all have our different uses for our firearms, and as such, our own individually tailored ammunition requirements. What suits one class of shooter does not suit all classes of shooters.

I'm not sure what I have as far as reserves go but I know I shot a shit load of ammo this year and never replaced it. However I still have enough to fill all my mags a few times each and I have a couple hundred mags, mostly 30rnd AR mags. That does not count my pistol mags but I'm very low on handgun ammo, gotta stock up over the winter.
