Bill requiring securing of guns
Riding on the crest of the shootings perpetrated by the 6 percent of crazies who will always be with us no matter what laws are enacted, a democrat here in PA introduces a bill requiring that all guns be secured.
This is a subject that, as time goes by, the "more is better" rule eventually kicks in, and those keeping us and the children safer will climb from gun locks to requiring lockable storage aka safes.
I'm old. And old in my ways. I always thought, and still do, that by locking all of our windows and locking our doors, things inside are secured. Blaming me if someone breaks in and removes things is blaming the victim.
Fuck that!

Re: Bill requiring securing of guns
How do they intend on enforcing such law?
Life has a melody. Not great, not terrible.

Re: Bill requiring securing of guns
They won't actively enforce it, meaning they won't be sending people out to check. But if your house or car is broken into and a weapon is stolen then you'll be held liable for it instead of the criminal that actually committed the crime. Of course that begs the question where does it end? What if they compromised your safe? Are they going to say that your safe wasn't "safe" enough? Are gun safes going to have to be regulated and government approved?
Rules are written in the stone,
Break the rules and you get no bones,
all you get is ridicule, laughter,
and a trip to the house of pain.

Re: Bill requiring securing of guns
I believe government...California government....has a list of acceptable storage devices (cabinets and safes), just like they have a list of acceptable guns.
