Is there anything that you don't currently like about your kimber that you'd like to have instead? Or do you just want something cheaper to beat on at the range?

I've had my Kimber CII since Nov.

1750 rds downstream. No failures in the last 1000 rds.
A (50)box of Rems did screw it up, until I cleaned the shavings out.

Only two problems. Peening on the outer radius of the lower barrel lugs.
I have relieved this by removing material away from the outside radius.
The FPS extended below the bottom of the slide, thus bumping the hammer
when returning to battery. I removed material from bottom edge of FPS. Slide returns to battery much smoother, even though it bumps into the disconnector.

Don't change springs, if you get another Kimber. Just shoot it. And the stock mag is just fine.

So for around 700USD, and 500 rds of ValuPak Rem UMC, a Kimber will
not only be broken in nicely, you have enough left over for a holster,
and some mags, which also have to be broken in as well. I have 2 WC's, and 2 KimPro. All work fine.

I just picked up My New Rem 1911 R1 yesterday, did not have a chance to shoot it yet, but it really looks good, and all of the reviews that I found here and on Utube are all very good and i paid $589.00 plus tax. Great Deal for a 1911, and a lifetime warrenaty ( Replacement Warrenty ) from Davidsons " Gallery og Guns "" Cant beat that !!!
