Charter Arms .38spcl
Co-worker sends me a txt today. She texted rather than called cuz she didnt want any other co-workers to overhear...
Can you take my gun home with you?
Her ex-husband is visiting from FL...staying at her house while he does work on the house...he's a felon and Bucks County said she could not keep the gun in the house. I explained to her that wasn't true...but she doesn't have a safe anyway so this way was just easier.
{post edited...not because of the condescending post below...but because it didnt matter to the actual post anyway. }
Anyway...it's a cute little revolver...wondering if anybody can give a rough estimate on age. She says she's had it for years....doesn't remember how long.

Re: Charter Arms .38spcl
Since it has an un-shrouded ejector rod that model there would be the original Charter Arms undercover. Guessing on the date here, I would say between 82 and 85...

Re: Charter Arms .38spcl
So you just put out on the internet a picture of a firearm, complete with serial # of the firearm that was loaned to you by a co-worker that allowed her felon husband to be in possesion of said firearm.
Did you read your post before you posted it and not consider that your identity is not exactly impossible for someone to track down?
Good job, way to think before you post. I suggest for the sake of your co-worker that you remove the pics and edit your "story".

Re: Charter Arms .38spcl
It's the "OFF DUTY" model with matte black finish that Charter called the "military finish." The OFF DUTY was a less finished, lower cost version of the UNDERCOVER. It was produced most likey late 1989 - early 1990. S/N 1,090,xxx was reached in 1991.
It should have a small red dot inset into the front sight blade.Last edited by 32 Magnum; February 2nd, 2011 at 02:55 AM.

Re: Charter Arms .38spcl
As long as the OP has the legal standing to "possess" a firearm - he has done nothing wrong - and the owner did a good thing by getting the firearm out of her domicile while her EX- was in attendance - no sense testing the water on that one. Don't see any references to names, addresses, etc. - don't see any harm in posting pics of an anonymous firearm - EVEN WITH THE MAGICAL serial number exposed to the universe. Nothing illegal done, no harm, no foul. Of course this is only my personal CONSIDERED unemotional opinion.

Re: Charter Arms .38spcl
I would not post on the internet that I had a "friend" that allowed a felony to be commited with her firearm and then post a picture of the firearm to boot.
This is not paranoid anything, the poster has knowledge of a felony being commited and is now in possesion of the device in which it was commited.
And you guys are going to make remarks about magic serial numbers and poo-poo it as no big deal?
OK, fine, I guess no body has ever gotten in trouble by posting anything on the internet...
I was offering my opinion, just as others have.
