    Default LTCF Change of Address

    Hi,

I have a PA LTCF. I just moved recently but have to change addresses in two months. What are the rules on having the correct address on your LTCF? Common sense would say that I would apply for an address change when I move from this temporary housing until I get my permanent address in March/April.

    Thanks in advance.

There is no "apply for an address change". Your license is good until it expires or is revoked. It is not legally necessary to have your address updated on your LTCF.

However, it is wise to notify the issuing Sheriff of your new address so they can update the system. This will provide them with a new address to mail you your renewal notice. You do not legally need a replacement LTCF with an updated address. Remember, you are licensed - not your address. Regardless of address, you are licensed.

On a side note, you only have either 10 or 15 days to update your drivers license of a new residence. ...It is mandatory. A state issued change of address card or replacement DL will be issued depending on where you go. You can do this on the internet at one of PennDOT's sites(<-clicky).

Thanks! Didn't know about the driver's license part.

Although technically I have a mailbox at the first address AND the second address.

I changed address at Lackawana Sheriff's office. For just $5 I received a new one with updated address...
