The big glaring pink statement? Was there some recent idiot activity or something?

PAFOA provides space for this marketplace for non-prohibited persons to offer to sell or buy legal firearms with other non-prohibited persons. It is the responsibility of every seller and every buyer to comply with all state and federal laws, which includes verifying the buyer's state of residence, refusing sales to prohibited persons, and additional requirements. If you're not sure of the laws, find out. For maximum safety, we suggest doing all transfers of advertised guns through a Federal Firearms Licensee or a Sheriff; this is mandatory for handguns, and mandatory for sales to out-of-state residents, and it’s the only way you can get a PICS check done.

Requiring that your buyer show you a current PA License to Carry Firearms may provide some assurance that the buyer is not prohibited, but this is not foolproof. Being a registered user or someone that you've met personally is zero assurance of being non-prohibited for firearms possession.

Certain firearms, parts & accessories are also regulated by the National Firearms Act, so if you're not sure, do the research.

If you see an ad that you believe violates applicable laws, or if you believe you've been solicited to do an unlawful act, notify site administrators.

I think it's a great CYA for PAFOA as well as good information for sellers/buyers to do their own CYA. PAFOA seems to have grown tremendously so it doesn't hurt to cover bases.

Then there should also be a statement that all sales are in no way associated to the site.

Remember, PAFOA is incorporated as a non-profit. As such, it was suggested by legal counsel that a statement be placed on the Classifieds pages, in order to minimize the potential for PAFOA to be held liable in transactions which the organization has nothing to do with.

That's basically it in a nutshell.

Needs to be tweaked. Half of the page are warnings, rules, or advertisements, the other half is the content we go there for.
Get rid of the spaces, shrink the font, have the warning on the main (entry) page, not on every page. The Classifieds are one of the best features on PAFOA. Can't understand why someone wouldn't spend a little more time on it's design.

And while your doing that. Make some sub categories in the firearms section breaking out Pistols>Rifles>Shotguns>Other if possible. It would really make using the section a lot cleaner.

this has been requested before and found to be too labor intensive.

this is not gunbroker or auction arms, this is not intended to be a firearm sales site, the classified are there a convenience to PAFOA members, thats all.
