PICS of VORTEX Viper PST 1-4
Find the pics of some reticle shots from the MOA version. I am just learning how to shoot thru other glass so not the best shots.
Illumination OFF
Illumination ON
Further back as you would probably use it
Over the top from shooting position . Mag bar and zero lite pipes are easy to see.
Clearly and easy to read markings
The scope feels well made and the glass is brite. Outside against the snow the reticle is crisp and clear. With the reticle turned on against a brite light colored background you see the black reticle as if it was turned off and as you sight on a dark colored object the reticle turns red with it getting very bright red over the darker targets. I really like the 1 MOA dot at the center of the ring. At 4 power it is really crisp and you can see right where you want to place a shot. At 1 power the ring appears fast to find.
Eye relief is outstanding and as good as advertised.
The turrents have a solid tactile & audible click.
The MIRAD version is almost same. The ring appears slightly thicker, center dot the same and the ranging etchings do not extand as tall or wide as does the MOA version.
I will get one of these out to the range ASAP.
If anyone would like to check one out or have questions Post or PM me

Re: PICS of VORTEX Viper PST 1-4
Any word on when the higher powers would be coming in? I have a 6-24 on order and better have it for hogs this spring.

Re: PICS of VORTEX Viper PST 1-4
The higher power PST's are starting to come in this month but no one knows for sure.
?, I have never hunted hogs but I have a friend that does. I was under the impression that it was a fairly close up type hunt as well as fast moving. Are you setting up @ distance on a spot or how is it done?
Thread drifting but I am curious how it relates to a 6x24.
TIA and if I get better info I will post for you.
BW.

Bw,
I hunt the PA hog, also known as the Ground hog. And I think the 6-24 will be great for the long shots. Thanks for posting the pictures of the 1-4x. The glass looks amazing and I love that reticle.
