Lost/Stolen Firearm Question
Hello group.
Does anyone know about lost/stolen firearms reporting. My car was stolen back in July and was recovered a week later a few towns over. I live in Bucks county (Bristol Twp). I briefly check the car and verbally told the 2 officers that the only thing I noticed missing was my scanner and 2 way radio (I do security guard work) which was mounted on the front hump. I wasn't happy about that but was glad I got my car back and left that part of town quickly.
I am now selling my car and cleaned out the trunk (which was a mess) yesterday and noticed/remembered I had a firearm in the trunk at the time was stolen (have PA permit and SG permit) and now its gone. I had totally forgot to check the trunk when I got my car back (I guess relieved really that I gotten my car back). I do not leave my car unlocked at all (even at 7-11) since it was stolen.
I feel like a moron but I know I got to report it. How much drama is the PD going to give me for being stupid and not realizing it sooner? Needless to say I am stressed out this entire weekend.
Please help.

Re: Lost/Stolen Firearm Question
They should not give you any trouble. But report it stolen ASAP. It was a simple oversight. They may bitch at you, but they can't do anything legally. Just make sure to get it reported. Now.

Ok. Do I mention I have a LTC or SG card? I mean they can't revoke it or anything can they? I used to live in NJ and they are very strict and sneeky.

Re: Lost/Stolen Firearm Question
There is no need for you to mention that you have either of those. Just tell them it was locked in your trunk and you forgot about it. If they ask, you can tell them, but there is no reason for them to ask. And no, they cannot (legally...LEO often times have their own agenda) revoke your PA LTCF for this.

Re: Lost/Stolen Firearm Question
Okay.
Just called over to the PD and talked to an officer. He said just come over and file a report and make sure to let them know the original stolen car case number so they can tie it together. I just found my receipt with the serial number on it and the PA ROS form.
They (the PD) must get this alot.
Thankyou.
Stress off.
I'll let you know what happens tommorrow.

Not happy. I still have the Barsto .400 corbon conversion barrell here at house.
If your on the XD forums then I probably know your handle. I had an HS2000 a few years back before they became XD's. Sweet piece also.
