    Default Ak bolt carrier issue??

I just fired this gun for the first time and when I got back from the range and started cleaning it I noticed some wear on the bolt carrier. I'm not sure if what's happening is normal or not? I've fired about 500 rounds through this gun. Its a wasr-10, I know these gas pistons are welded in and this could be the wearing of the weld but im not sure. Any input would be great.
    Thanks

I have wear all over my bolt carrier. It is after all a moving part. I'm not sure where my carrier is showing wear because I haven't taken it out in a while but I assure you I have a little there and a little over here and some there...

I don't believe what you are showing is anything to be worried about.

Whoever ground the carrer down and reinstalled the piston did not blue the gun well. It just came off. They probably used like magic marker or something and cleaning agents took it off. The gun is fine. Polish it off evenly and cold blue it.

Don't stress. Clean it with ultra fine steel wool and hoppes #9. If youre that worried you can get a new assembly for $15.

    The piston is threaded in.
The importers minimum wage guy that puts in the US made gas piston to bring up the parts count got a little to ambitious when doing the ametuer welding job on the retaining pin, then it looks like he got a bit crazy with the grinder.

Nothing to worry about unless you start shooting corrosive ammo and it may attack the raw steel. Clean it well if you use corrosive ammo and it will be fine.

I own 5 AKs but only one has a welded piston.
It wore in and the wear hasn't increased so I left it alone.

If it operates roughly it's not hard to grind off the weld and replace with
a pinned piston (US pistons and pins are widely available online )

I just took my AK all apart to clean it on this snowy day and I double checked the bottom of my carrier and noted that it takes off the finish but no deeper. It's nothing to worry about. She'll go bang.
