Default Beretta PX4 Storm SC problems - What should I be aware of?

Hi all! I had a question that maybe you guys can help me out with. I am currently looking at purchasing a Beretta PX4 Storm sub-compact pistol in .40 flavor. My main concern is whether or not this pistol has a history of failures and/or problems I should be aware of.

I've seen some hubub concerning decocking problems and that there was a batch of bad PX4's that Beretta manufactured. Does anyone know what serial numbers this batch encompassed?

The reason I ask is that I'll be heading to the Gettysburg gun show this Saturday to see about purchasing a PX4 sub-compact but I want to be sure I'm not getting a lemon.

    Thanks to all! =)

A lot of people complain about the sights. I have a full size PX4 in 45 acp and I have no problems with the sights on my gun. The good thing is that though sub compact unlike my SC PT11 in 9mm thats only accurate out to 15 yards for me, your PX4 SC is reputed to shoot as accurate as a full size gun once you work things out.

I carry mine everyday and love it. Only put about 500 rounds through it so far but not one problem or complaint.

Thanks for the replies. I am mostly interested in finding out if there was a recall on the PX4 sub-compact, and if so, what serial numbers were affected by it.

    Thanks!

I like my Sub Compact which I picked up 1 & 1/2 years ago. No problems and easy to carry.
I would absolutly check out the Compact as it is only a little bigger and sports the Rotating barrel as does the full size Storm and the Cougar.
In a .40 platform it should have less felt recoil.

i'm picking up my compact tomorrow. I hear it has leff felt reciol then the fullsize due to the some new recoil spring setup that sits in a trench.

I'm glad everyone's PX4 Storms are still going strong.

Like I said, there was some problems with early PX4's subcompacts that had issues, and I wanted to know what the serial number range was for the affected batch.

I have one in 40 S&W , it is a nice carry pistol and a good shooter ! I use it for summertime carry or when I don't feel like packing a heavier pistol.
I had no problems with mine ! From what I read the sub-compact is the only one that doesn't have the rotating barrel which is why it didn't have the problems of the compact and full size. I only wish I could remember where I read the article ?

I did a PX4sc RECALL search on the Beretta Forum. NOTHING!
In the entire Forum there was only ONE post that mentioned a
    defective decocker on his pistol.
    One posted problem. That's Amazing.
I think you'll be more than happy with your Beretta purchase.
    I was.
