Default New and Interesting. But ugly!

    Or maybe I should FUGLY

Check out Chiappa's Rhino revolver. I've never seen one and first learned of its' existence through an ad in Shooting Times.

    Here's a link to the 4" version http://www.chiappafirearms.com/product/727

But as ugly as this thing is, I'm intrigued by the notion of firing from the bottom chamber. That puts the barrel almost in straight line with the center of the supporting hand, greatly reducing the torque arm. Which should do wonders for reducing muzzle flip.

Has anyone actually seen, fired or at least read a decent review of these things?

I haven't seen one in person, but I was interested a few months back when I first saw it too - but then I saw the price and quickly moved on - lol.

Interesting, and on first glance I thought it was the "Mateba" reincarnate... Seem to remember CDNN was where they were liquidated.

Wow, I might have to get one in .40 S&W if they make it into Canada...

Just read a review on these. I think it was in USCCA magazine but I can't be certain. Anyway, best I remember is that the muzzle flip is greatly reduced as advertised. The problem with the pistol is the trigger sucks. The dummy hammer is activated by the trigger but it is nothing more then a dummy for the top cylinder and it apparently has a bad impact on the functioning trigger for the second (lower) barrel. IIRC the review said the gun had a nice feel to it and good balance and VERY accurate, but a horrible trigger. Again, this is all from memory but that is what I recall.

saw a video on gunblast.com. he was shooting full power .357 out of it and it looked like there was practically no muzzle flip. pretty much looked like he was shooting a 22

Saw and shot one at the range the other day. Not a revolver guy so only fired one round. Got to admit pretty cool looking. Nice touch is it comes with its own holster since the shape is so awkward. Yes, the trigger will take some getting use too.
