My new Single Action Army
Picked this up at the gun shop the other day (see attached for images) - $400 used. It's a Beretta Stampede in .357. Color Case-hardened frame, blued cylinder/barrel, and black trigger guard with black grips.
Really the only thing that sucks about it is that some of the color case-hardening has worn off around the cylinder (as it's not "true" color case-hardening, but "applied"). Considering this is my first gun, I can live with that for now. Some day when I have some more dough I'll hopefully get a really nice brand new SAA.
Taking it the range this week - Just wanted to share. The pictures don't do her justice - what a gorgeous revolver it is!

Very nice, I'm sure you'll be very happy together! If it shoots as well as it looks!

Nice piece. Now you'll have to join your local Single Action Shooting club.

Re: My new Single Action Army
I still want to buy a SAA eventually. For some reason they just look like fun. Big calibers, old school, kind of take you back to the Wild west days. She is a beauty indeed.

Re: My new Single Action Army
There really is nothing like a Single Action Army - they're just too much fun!
They aren't very popular among new younger shooters these days because they'd rather have a 1911 or an XD or another type of modern semi-auto that movies make popular. Those guns are awesome, but you have to hold a SAA and see one in person to see how badass they are.
So much character, they fit like a glove, and it just takes you back to the frontier of the old days when the SAA was king.
Pulling the hammer back with your thumb while gripping the trigger and listening to those "clicks" as the cylinder spins - ahhh it's hard to beat!Last edited by Wayfaerer320; January 24th, 2011 at 11:18 PM.

Re: My new Single Action Army
VERY COOL !!!
I recently (Oct, of 2010) bought a Colt SAA in .45
What fun to shoot !! Just gets kinda expensive to blow 50 - 60 rounds through it. (at $30 - $40 a box of 20)Vice President and Board Member of Philadoptables; Friends of the Philadelphia Animal Control Shelter

Nice

That is a nice find!!
I would not let a little wear bug me. I like a little wear on a clean piece. Makes it look like it gets used and is well taken care of.
That sure would look sweet in a good leather rig.
Have fun shootin that one!

Re: My new Single Action Army
Here is a pair of my Colt SAA shooters. Much more fun than any auto loader.
Wayfaerer320, I would like to say that is a really nice SAA. The Berettas are made by Uberti. For the ultimate fun experience with a SAA try a full case full of black powder.

Very nice! I have seen/heard about these more recently. I may have to look into one. The only downside is the ammo cost....
