Bucks County Coyotes
I always heard that they were scattered through Bucks County. Coming home a few minutes ago I was very startled to see two running through the edge of a corn field near my house in Hilltown. Way way too big to be foxes. I'm 59 years old been around game animals a good part of my life. No mistake that they were Coyotes.

Damnit, now we have Mexican smugglers running around the county. Or are these the ones helping people escape from NJ?
I'm not surprised we have coyotes migrating this way. As their population grows they need to expand their territory. When the SHTF......be the fan.

Re: Bucks County Coyotes
Ys know, I thought this post was nuts. Then I did a little digging, seems coyotes are in the area, sighted in DELCO as well.
I saw a large fox at dawn along my tree line the other day, now I'm not so sure. Looked way big for a fox, but until about ten minutes ago I was blissfully unaware of teh possibility of coyotes.
Hmmm... foxes never gave me much concern with my own critters, but a coyote? Not so sure about that. I have two mastiffs, I doubt a coyote would take them on, what with so many other food sources in the neighborhood, including about a million Bambis. A little more digging indicates they love rabbits and mice. They're welcome to 'em. Maybe I should swap my worthless, no mouse catching cat for a coyote?

Re: Bucks County Coyotes
I saw one cutting across a field on 113 in Hilltown Twp the other day. I am half tempted to try calling one in to my yard.
Guns are dangerous, but no guns is more dangerous.

Re: Bucks County Coyotes
I hunt in E.Rockhill near Nockamixen and I missed 2 during archery this year. First one was a heart breaker because it was an easy shot and I just screwed up. The second one (literally 2mins after the first miss) was a farther shot and with limited shooting window. I saw a total of 5 different coyotes this archery season. I heard on multiple outtings anywere from 8-10 calling right before dark. My dad got one on the opener of gun season.
Funny gezz it was about 3 years ago I started noticing coyote tracks, but only 1-2 sets a year. Last year I saw one during the last week of archery and this year LOL well this year I have them around full blown. So yes they are very much here and in some areas larger densities.

They're in Philly as well. There's a population in the Wissahickon gorge section of Fairmount park. It's a huge amount of terrain for them when you include Belmont Plateau too.
