As it was said, it's not a problem. Yet, I personally wouldn't do that. First - I'd hate to ruin designed integrity of the rifle. It also might affect it's future resale value. Not to mention - how much crap can you really stick into those additional holes? Wouldn't the cheapest belt pouch be more roomy?

Reliability. Accuracy. Ammo weight, price and availability (before and during SHTF situation). Simplicity. Consealability.

Since 1959, the venerable AR-7 has been the choice of U.S. Air Force pilots who need a small-caliber rifle they can count on for survival should they have to punch out over a remote area. Over the years, the AR-7's reputation for portability, ease of operation and reliability has carried over to the civilian world as well. Today, it's a favorite of bush pilots, backpackers and backcountry adventurers who, like their Air Force counterparts, need a rifle that's easy to carry but has the accuracy to reliably take down small game.

Shot it last Sunday. It is great rifle indeed. Not my style (I prefer something bulkier), but I do recognize it's qualities.

This was one of my Son's Christmas presents this year. They read the novel "The Hatchet" in school and the AR 7 was in the story so I bought it for him. I live about a 1/2 mile from the school. His Teacher is going to stop by after school one day and shoot it. He thinks it will be neat to tell future classes that he has handled and fired it.

Be safe (and rugged and simple and lightweight).
