Re: Florida Open Carry Bill
It still looks like you'd need a permit/license to OC. ..so I dont see any benefit or real compliance with the Founding Father's intent.

Re: Florida Open Carry Bill
While that may be true, currently, Florida is not a traditional open carry state. Open Carry is lawful while engaged in, or going directly to and from, lawful Target Shooting, Hunting, Fishing, and Camping expeditions.
So I'd place it the better than nothing bin. At least it's a step in the right direction.

I love this line,
"Citiziens lawfully carrying handguns has been proven so effective in reducing violent crime that many in law enforcement have changed their tune on the matter. The "Shall-Issue" concealed carry movement that started in Florida has been so successful that it has spread to most of the country. Nationwide, violent crime is down everywhere that carrying a handgun has become common."

Re: Florida Open Carry Bill
Yeah, every anti-gun asswipe out there should read it over and over and OVER until they finally get it!
23 years later, the Open Carry Ban that Janet Reno so skillfully lobbied for still stands in Florida. What has not lasted are the 1987 predictions of gun control advocates. In fact, crime is down dramatically in Florida since carrying a firearm became legal in public. Citiziens lawfully carrying handguns has been proven so effective in reducing violent crime that many in law enforcement have changed their tune on the matter. The "Shall-Issue" concealed carry movement that started in Florida has been so successful that it has spread to most of the country. Nationwide, violent crime is down everywhere that carrying a handgun has become common.

Remember those CCW badges everybody scoffed at?
Check out Lines 46-48
(b) Carrying openly requires that the carrier display his
47 or her license to carry a concealed firearm in a clear sleeve on
48 or near the holster in such a manner as to be visible.
