House Judiciary Chair
Why is a democrat (John Conyers) the House Judiciary Committee Chair ? I thought that one advantage Republicans got in taking control of the House was that we got control of the Chairmanships of all the committees as well.
Correct me if I am wrong, but does not the Committee Chairman decide what and when the committees vote on ? Therefore in order to keep anti gun bills from ever even getting voted on, should we focus our attention on calling and writing Rep. Conyers ?

Re: House Judiciary Chair
We've had a very bad problem in the last 30 years of Republicans playing nicey-nicey with the bad guys including Rinos instead of kicking them to the curb.

Re: House Judiciary Chair
According to the House Judiciary Committee website, Lamar Smith is the chairman. John Conyers is the Ranking Member, which means he's the senior-most member of the committee from the minority party.
