KAHR KP45 pros/cons
Hi. I had an ah-ha moment yesterday and I now want a small .45, and I am looking at the Kahr http://www.kahr.com/PA-1_45acp_p.html .
Does anyone have any trigger time with one?
Is it controlable? (I am not recoil sensitive)
Quality or junk? I have handled one in the store and I liked it.
Any other options in the same price range?
Thanks!I vote the second first

Re: KAHR KP45 pros/cons
I think a couple of guys on here have had both negative and positive feedback on the Kahr P and PM series. With their polymers, it seems to be a crap shout; you either get a good one or a bad one. At the same time, Kahr fills a niche that no one else has yet in that sense. If you want a Kahr, I would recommend getting a steel framed version. Those are pretty reliable from what I hear, and my MK40 has had no issues with about 300 rounds of FMJ and some JHP through it.

When you consider that a glock 36 is dimensionally similar in all aspects, costs half as much and doesn't have the spotty quality control khar has a reputation for, the choice becomes simple.

Re: KAHR KP45 pros/cons
I have had great results with my Kahrs (P9 and P45)I haven't had the P45 long enough to make any long term reliability comments but I have found both to be very acurate. My P9 has been very relaible no ftf ot fte in over 1000 rounds,I have used wwb, corbon dpx, speer gold dots. federal hst...hell I think I've put pretty much near everything through it.
I chose a Kahr 45 simply because I am used to their trigger and love how thin they are and how easy they conceal.I know they can be hit or miss as far as the polymer ones go but I have been willing to roll the dice and so far I have been ok.YMMV.
I know people with Glock 36s and I wouldn't say they are as relaible as the other models Glock makes. If they were I may have chosen one.
As for costing twice as much my P45 was $630 if you know where I can get a NIB 36 for $315 I'll go buy one

Mr. S- How controlable is the 45? Is it quick to get back on target?

Based on my dad's personal experience with the PM9, I cannot say I'd recommend their products at all. Absolutely hideous quality control.

Re: KAHR KP45 pros/cons
I think it is very controllable, using the regular 230 grain stuff(federal hst, winchester ranger, blazer brass, hornady tap, american eagle)it has been very good.
I have tried some double tap 185gr. and 230gr. and found these to have a little more "pop"and are a little slower to get back on target with.I will probably stick with the Federal HST and Winchester Ranger T for carry.
A few other notes.
I use the decal grip on it which for me makes a difference, also the front strap checkering is sharp,I don't mind it(yet) but others might find it uncomfortable.
