flintlock barrel
i just picked up a pistol barrel wich i believe is a 20gauge at the gun show this past weekend. i am sure its original but i was wondering what the proof marks ment. also i was wondering if there was a site or a book that has proof marks what year and country they are from. thanks for the help!
ps all the markings have a crown and one has a GR under it which i know means king george. there is also a crown with two scepters crossed under it. pictures didn't come out so well

Re: flintlock barrel
Here is a place that sells stamps to "restore" the original markings, they show both as being Brown Bess markings, as for the year range, anytime during King George III reign, 1760-1820 is probably the best guess I can give.
