Default Old model SIG P229 .40

Anyone out there know of an attachment for the old SIG series autoloaders w/o the frame rail to install lights or laser combination? I saw something in an old Sportsmans Guide catalog, but couldn't find any info on the net, and don't remeber the name of the manufacturer. Contacted SIG about simply buying a new frame w/rail, but they said serial #'s wouldn't match. (Hence, illegal.)

That's kind of stupid since the frame is technically what is the "firearm". There shouldnt be any reason why they can't sell you a frame as long as it's sent to an FFL and you have it transferred to you. I guess pistols are different. I will do some looking for this item of which you speak. Also...my slide doesn't have any serial number on it that would have to match the frame anyway.

Surefire also makes one for a 226 that you may be able to modify:http://www.lapolicegear.com/sumora5.html

Yes, I've seen the guide rod replacement lasor from SIG, kinda pricey. Thanks.

I do have the same issue with my P226, no rails.

I've also heard that after a mag or 2 the laser gets all fouled up and isnt so visible.

Hey friend! Can't beat $60, this is what I was looking for. Guess I wasn't looking hard enough! Now I just need to justify $60 to the "boss".
