Re: Best Plinking 22Lr Pistol
Ruger MK III with a longer bbl for accuracy or get the Hunter and add a RedDot. Cost is kinda subjective..... depends on where you get it, new/used etc. I like the solid construction and quality for the Ruger for target shooting or even plinking.... but
A Walther P22 is a fun gun which I have as well... but I just plink with that one mostly (smaller and comfortable) and hoping to get a can to add to that for some quiet fun. I want to get my GF out to shoot that... I think she will like it and it's a good training gun for her as well.

I have a Ruger MK III cheap version all blued with a 5.5 Bull Barrel and a Red Dot. Defiantly a fun gun to plink with.

Re: Best Plinking 22Lr Pistol
Currently have a Ruger Mark II with 10in bbl. Also have some time on a Mark II with shorter bbl, very reliable and really accurate. Pick one up used in stainless and try your best to wear it out...good luck.

Re: Best Plinking 22Lr Pistol
Well, best plinking "and" target 22?
A plinking 22 could be anything thats fun to shoot and reasonably (soda can) accurate. The Ruger MK series will suit that type of shooting very well. If you want a true "target" 22 that has a great (adjustable) factory trigger, then you can't go wrong with the Buckmark. There is a third choice, but I don't have much experience with it's "target" capability. However, it's a very inexpensive plinker - the Beretta Neos.Toujours prêt

Re: Best Plinking 22Lr Pistol
A Ruger MK I II or III is a good choice for plinking or "entry level" target. The Browning is in the same class as the Ruger. For real target work, you can choose from Smith Model 41, Hi Standards, Beretta (NOT THE NEOS), Hammerli, Walther (NOT THE P22).
