First one of the year. It gets entertaining watching the ridicules prices some of these people bid.

Ridiculous bid prices indeed!! I've been going to Alderfer gun auctions for several years. The people there are great and the auction is run very well, BUT the people bidding on firearms need to get a clue. They must have forgotten that on top of the hammer down price(winning bid), one must add anywhere from 16% to 19%; 10% if paying by cash or check and then 6% sales tax= 16%. 13% if paying by credit card and then add 6% sales tax=19%
The only way you get a great deal is if someone falls asleep while bidding and lets one slip away. That scenario is very rare!
You'll get a better deal finding a private seller or going online to a site like gunbroker or gunsamarica.
