    Default My First Buck ever!!

Ok let me start off by saying this is not my first deer. I'm mainly a meat hunter so I usually shoot whatever walks out first. But today this walked out and I could'nt resist, it was a 126yd. shot with a 20ga lightfield sabot slug. The Buck was quartering away from me. It ran 20yds. jumped a fence and collapsed on the other side. Needless to say for my first non-button buck I am thrilled!

I have a Bullet drop compensation reticle on my slug gun. I have it set dead on at 100yds on my main crosshair and my second line is 125yds. I had a really good solid rest on my shooting rail of my stand. Thanks for the compliment!

Cool. I have been contemplating getting a .20 for deer and after seeing yours and reading your posts I like them even more. Having 2 back surgeries I can't take the big kick of rifles anymore.

Congrats on the buck! I shot my first buck last year (it took me 15 years to get one).

All I got this year was a little button buck, but since it's the only deer I saw in three days of hunting I guess a little bit of meat is better than none.

Ever consider a 30-30? I've taken 5 deer in the last 4 years with mine (Marlin 336 with a 4-12x40 scope). Very little recoil nd a lot of good laods available.
