Default got my ltcf, interesting flyer with it!

    Hey all.
Let me just say this is a great organization, really enjoy reading all the info here. Its been educational. Anyway just got my ltcf in the mail (30days wait) and it was attached to a flyer from the local sheriff of lawrence county.
    It said:
Do not carry your firearm into any:
    bars
    federal buildings
    courthouses
    airports
    schools
Don't leave your firearm unattended in a motor vehicle.
You must carry the firearm concealed on your person
    etc.

Thought the bar thing and concealed parts were funny.
Someone doesnt know the laws or more likely wants to make up their own.

But you can carry into a courthouse as long as you check it at the security checkpoint. You can also carry at an airport as long as you don't try to go through the security checkpoint with it.

Meh... they called it a permit too.
It also looks like a tenth generation photocopy.

You may want to consider issuing the sheriff a flyer of your own:

Should a sheriff confiscate or revoke a license for failure to abide by any of the declarations, on the flyer provided with Lawrence County LTCFs, which lack subsequent statutory authority, he shall be liable for the crime of Official Oppression:

    18 Pa.C.S. § 5301
A person acting or purporting to act in an official capacity or taking advantage of such actual or purported capacity commits a misdemeanor of the second degree if, knowing that his conduct is illegal, he:
    (1) subjects another to arrest, detention, search, seizure, mistreatment, dispossession, assessment, lien or other infringement of personal or property rights; or
    (2) denies or impedes another in the exercise or enjoyment of any right, privilege, power or immunity.

What a bunch of hacks. The part that sucks is that most people will just believe it, and then go around spouting it off to other people that its the law.

Exactly what I thought, most will assume its true. I think they may be getting an email or letter informing them of their "mistakes". And maybe the gun rights flyer from here as well.

I also take issue with "you must carry your permit with you at all times that you are carrying your firearm"

    and

"your license is good in the state of Pennsylvania"

I think we need a flyer like that made up to carry all the time, to go along with the OC flyers many people carry. That way if you're stopped by a power hungry cop, you can show them that there are consequences to any illegal actions without having to actually talk to them.

I think it is crazy how much of this misinformation is out there. We should push for a law making it illegal for cops to lie about the law.
