Unhappy Lehigh County Bldg. at 17 South Seventh St.

    F.Y.I.

I just got back from getting my dog's license and they now have a checkpoint as soon as you walk in. Of course I was CC and was told that I had to lock it up in the car. Reluctantly I did so, but when I got back the guard told me that he was wrong and that all he had to do was call for a deputy from the sheriffs office down the hall at which time I would be able to lock the weapon up in the sheriffs office. Also found out that any one looking to get their hunting and fishing lic. there will no longer be able to do so. This also applies to anyone who gets a Sportsman Carry Permit.

Yea, here is a Morning Call story about it.

Not sure if this is a possible preemption violation. As far as I understand, this is not the actual Lehigh County Courthouse building.

Maybe the braintrust geniuses up there can explain how these checkpoints resolve this problem:

Were those windows shot out with a firearm?

Why not? They have to be sold by the county somewhere.

They told me that it has to do people being let go.

They said that if you want the hunting and fishing lic. you can get them at any sporting goods store such as the Army Navy or Cabela's.

You are getting the DOG an LTCF? Sorry, I couldn't resist. I thought of the thread a while back where someone was asking if their dog could CC a firearm.

This was discussed at the FOAC meeting last night. People will be looking into what develops and what course of action might be open to us.

Actually there was a post about a dog getting a LTCF.

But how would you control the dog?

Since we seem to have two threads on this topic, I'll just quote myself from the other one.

Not active duty tags. The $2 tags and Armed Forces doe tags are only aval at the county centers. I've was dragging down there for 18 years because of that.

Any word on the legality of it?
