    Default AR build purchase order

I have the upper for my build. Still need to purchase other parts. Was thinking going this route for purchase priority:
    BC BCG for about $135.
    BC charging handle $40.
Xtreme Machine lowers and lpk $189.
    Tapco 6 position stock $65.

I have enough saved up to buy either the bcg/charging handle OR the lower receiver/lpk now.

My concern is that with the specter of a possible AWB, should I change the order list of what to buy next? I've budgeted myself to complete the project by April or May, current events are making me feel like I should adjust the priority list.

Lightbulb Re: AR build purchase order

You had me 'til the Crapco stock.

Punch "Magpul" into our own 'classifieds' thread search engine, and see what pops up.

LOTS of great stocks out there, that are MUCH better quality, for either the same price, or just a bit more. Support a fellow PAFOA'r, and build a better rig - a win-win situation!

I actually like Tapco. I bought one for my daughter's 10/22, lost the straight post and called them up and told them I'd lost it and would like to buy a replacement. The operator thanked me for my honesty and said that all Tapco stocks come with a lifetime warranty, and that they would ship me the part. Two days later I had the tube on my daughters rifle.

But for you, I'll look it up.

Back to my OP, does my priority list look about right, or should I adjust it?

Buy The Lower First. Everything else is just parts /peices with out a lower.
I was starting to feel stupid for sitting on some lowers but after this week I am glad I have them.

Thumbs up Re: AR build purchase order

I'm not familiar with that brand of lower, but that sounds a bit pricey. Are they billet, or...???

Take a look at the BCM scratch 'n' dent complete lower sale. For almost that SAME price, you can get a COMPLETE lower, with A4 grip AND 6 position stock! Nothing fancy, but BCM quality & reliabilty for cheap!

I bought one, hit it with a Birchwood-Casey bluing pen, & mated it to a BCM middy upper, for a complete rifle!

These are great for those little touch-ups, like for bluing the indentation after you stake the castle nut.

Lower receivers CNC-machined from 7075 T6 forgings. Small shop in Greenflats PA, so Im supporting a local. Test fit the lowers with the YHM upper I have, fit and finish were perfect, no gaps, wobbles etc, so no need for an accuwedge. Ive seen stripped lowers for around $65 (good ones at that), but I kind of want to A) build a rifle with as many PA manufactured parts as possible B) with the FFL transfer (I think $25), the savings kindo go away and C) I want to take it home and work on the lowers already

Non-blemished, no stock, BC wants $340.

    Here's the website:
    http://xtrememachining.us/products_ar.html

The upper receiver is Yankee Hill Machine, description:
    YHM-100
YHM has long been a manufacturer of quality AR-15 Upper Receivers and is very proud to offer our A3 Upper Receivers under our own label. Made from forged 7075-T6 aluminum to Mil. Specs, features extended M4 feed ramps, forward assist, "T" Markings, and dust cover assembly. Plated per MIL-A-8625.

I have to do it in bits n pieces or else she-who-must-be-obeyed will beat me with the complete rifle, or else Id have bought a complete lower or a complete rifle

So it's beginning to look like my next purchase is the LR and LPK.
