    Cost is all relative....

A few months ago I took a neighbor out shooting for his first time. After starting him out on my Henry LA (.22), we spent a long afternoon firing my M1 Garand (.30-06), Glock 30 (.45 ACP), S&W 66 (.357 mag), Colt Agent (.38 special), Browning BLR 81 (.30-06), Winchester 94 (.30-30) and Savage 99 (.300). We went back to my house where he helped me clean the guns and had a beer (or two) and told me what a great time he had and offered to buy the ammo next time we could get out. He asked me how much ammo costs was surprised when I told him we probably went through about $150 worth. He said it was a lot of fun but he didn't know shooting could be so expensive and it might be a while before he could make good on his offer to buy the next round (pun intended).

The very next day he went golfing with a co-worker, and when I saw him that night he was frustrated, mad at his co-worker for playing like s**t, sun-burn and exhausted. I asked him how much his round of golf (which he plays at least once a month) cost, and he said he dropped about $150 for green fees, balls, lunch and drinks at the club, and side bets. As pathetic as he sounded, I had to laugh and said, so let me get this straight, for about $75 per person, we go out for day, test our skills, talk and joke the whole time, laugh rather than curse at each other for bad shots, come home laughing and drink some cheap home brews. Or, for $150 you have to keep quiet while others are shooting, wait while the kids on the next hole screw around, get mad at your partner for missing, pay too much for a ham sandwich and a watered down drink, and come home pissed. And you think shooting is expensive?

The one thing you guys all forgot:

A DAY AT THE RANGE OR OUT HUNTING : PRICELESS
The truth shall set you free.

They can have my guns when they pry them from my cold dead hands

I can not wait until NJ sinks in the ocean and PA has ocean front property
